BeReal is a photo-sharing app built around a daily prompt to share a moment with friends. How the daily post works
When the prompt arrives, open the app and take your BeReal. The format uses front and rear cameras to show both you and your surroundings. Check both views before publishing: a screen, document or person in the background can reveal something you did not mean to share.
BeReal’s help guidance says you can post after the two-minute window, with a late indication. Missing the prompt does not mean you must immediately stop what you are doing. Wait until it is safe to use the phone.
Who sees the photo?
Review the audience and location options offered before posting. A spontaneous format is not a substitute for choosing recipients carefully. Do not assume that a post is private merely because it looks informal.

The current help centre describes a Streak as consecutive days on which you post after the daily notification. It can be a way to follow your activity, but maintaining a streak is optional. BeReal’s support page describes restoration only where the app offers an eligible option, not as a guarantee for every missed day.
As with other social networking, assess whether the interactions are useful to you. Notification pressure and the wish to appear spontaneous can still influence behaviour.
