The air is sucked into the air conditioning system and then cooled by a fan mechanism and sent back outside. This causes the temperature and humidity in the office space to drop. Some employees see air conditioning as a luxury, for others it is an absolute necessity. In countries with a constantly warm climate, air conditioners are almost always present. Wherever you work in the world, there are strong advantages to having an air conditioner.
Air conditioning improves productivity
There is no doubt that air conditioning promotes productivity in the office. Various studies show that productivity increases by as much as 15%. Many companies invest in this, to make people happier and more productive. The fresh air from air conditioning ensures a good supply of oxygen and the humidity remains optimally balanced. The ability to adjust the temperature is often experienced as pleasant. It is not too hot or too cold quickly.
Air conditioning reduces harmful substances and bacteria
During the day, the air in the office gets polluted. This is caused, among other things, by harmful substances and bacteria. An air conditioning system replaces dirty air with clean air, which means that dust and bacteria have less chance. Did you know that even pollen is stopped by the filters? This is very nice if you suffer from hay fever.
No humid rooms
An air conditioner is not only suitable for cooling office spaces, but also for dehumidifying office spaces. This allows the body to better dissipate its heat, especially during the hot summer days. The feeling of a warm, clammy environment quickly disappears.
What should an office review in 2026?
A comfortable office needs temperature control, ventilation and regular maintenance. Check where employees report draughts, heat or dry air instead of relying on one reading for the whole floor. Review filters and servicing with the building manager, then adjust individual zones where possible. Air conditioning cannot replace an adequate supply of fresh air.
